His Son
The Fatal Distance

MORNING MUSING December 31, 2008
The last day of the year is upon us. Apparently, there are psychological reasons why those getting older in years feel time passing so swiftly and in comparison the young feel it passes slowly. The elderly tend to look backwards and the young forwards and so this result! But, whatever our experience might have been, where have we been living through 2008?
MORNING MUSING 27TH MAY 2008
I have been continuing to reflect on some current events happening in the church scene of today. I mentioned a little about them a couple of weeks back. I have had several responses to what I wrote and the usual enthusiasm on the part of some emerges and deep reservation’s in other people threatens to disturb unity between them. My daily reading in John’s Gospel has been timely and could be helpful. The Jews challenged Jesus concerning His ministry and the manner in which He answered them is full of instruction. John’s gospel chapter five needs to be read at this juncture. On the Sabbath day Jesus had healed a man, one alone, leaving many others still in their conditions by the pool of Bethesda.
MORNING MUSING 11th JANUARY 2008
“He came and preached peace”, now that is a wonderful phrase to muse on before the Lord on a cold, wet and dark January morning in England! It comes from Ephesians chapter two. They are liberating words and most precious. It is music to the ears that hear it and life to the soul. In the Bible the word for peace (Shalom) includes much more than the ending of hostilities or maybe the tranquility which results from an end of disturbances. Added to those meanings is the idea of sitting together and feasting celebrating joyfully with the very ones with whom there had been enmity! Romans chapter five verse one tells us that ‘we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ’. Peace has come. Peace with God, with whom we were formerly inveterate enemies.
