YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE GAY

This book takes the form of a series of letters from a young man who has discovered that it is possible to change to a heterosexual lifestyle, to a friend who is struggling with his sexual orientation.  Jeff  Konrad explains in an informal and personal way how to make that change.  The book offers real hope and practical help to anyone who wants to come out of homosexuality.  It is written in a sympathetic style and has many insights from a Christian and psychological perspective.  Jeff Konrad himself had earlier espoused the idea ‘once gay, always gay’, however, he came to understand the true causes of his homosexual orientation and these gave him the encouragement to change.  The change he testifies to is a deep down change, not simply on the surface and is the result of the grace of God to him in Christ and the opening of his eyes which came as he followed the Lord.  The book is purposely written in a style which is non combative, it is not an attack on homosexuals and is especially written for those seeking change.  Although Konrad is a Christian and involved in ministry to those coming from homosexual background, the book is not primarily setting out to be Christian book, it is more from the psychological area that he writes but brings in his Christian testimony and the need for Christ alongside that emphasis.  The style of the book is couched in west coast Americanisms and that particular lifestyle but it could be given to any from a homosexual background who is seeking change.  It is a ‘’stepping stone’ book.  There are ample quotes from other specialist writers in this field and thus can introduce people to further literature which combat the popular myths promulgated by the homosexual constituency in the western world.
