IMPRISONED IN IRAN – LOVE’S VICTORY OVER FEAR

Category:

Here is a book that is a good read for a young person and for anyone wanting an honest story concerning God’s faithfulness to an ordinary person who, for a season, because of his faith, was thrust into extraordinary circumstances and found God to be faithful to him and Who used the circumstances in unusual ways. Dan Bauman survived a period in an Iranian prison having been wrongfully imprisoned. His testimony demonstrates the wisdom of the Lord Jesus being given to him at certain points and the power of the prayer of many who called on God when they heard of his plight. In a candid way Dan shares his fears, and the great distress of heart and mind through which he passed during his ordeal. There is a welcome transparency about this account, it is not embellished in anyway, it hides nothing but discloses the issues he faced, the way he found ability to continue in faith, answer the interrogations of unsympathetic officials and the favor God gave him in the eyes of several people who were key to his deliverance. The experience of imprisonment took place ten years ago, in the days of the Ayatollah whose militant Islamic position captured Iran at that time. The book does not manifest an anti-islamic spirit, rather it magnifies the love of the Lord Jesus which enabled Dan to tread this unusual path for His Name. It is clear from the account that the Lord was working in numerous ways and at no time was ‘asleep’ to the steps and state of His young servant. I can encourage pastors and leaders to encourage their children and their friends to read this book and talk about the lessons that Dan learned and the continuing desire he has to serve the Lord.
